Pascale Petit

Pascale Petit is a French-Welsh poet who lives in London. She has published three poetry collections. Her most recent, The Huntress and The Zoo Father (from Seren) were both shortlisted for the UK's T.S. Eliot Prize and were Books of the Year in The Times Literary Supplement. A prizewinning chapbook The Wounded Deer -- Fourteen poems after Frida Kahlo also appeared in 2005. She has won two Arts Council of England Writers' Awards, the New London Writers' Award and been shortlisted for a Forward Prize. A bilingual edition of The Zoo Father is published in Mexico and distributed in Latin America. In 2004 the Poetry Book Society and Arts Council named her as one of the Next Generation Poets. Two new collections, The Treekeeper's Tale, and The Thorn Necklace -- Thirty poems after Frida Kahlo (with the paintings), are due later this year or early 2008 from Seren. She has hosted The Guardian Unlimited's Poetry Workshop, is co-founder of Poetry London and was its Poetry Editor from 1989 to 2005. She is a founding tutor of The Poetry School and teaches many poetry-writing courses including at Tate Modern.
